Friday Finds: Fun Bandages!
Best.
Bandages.
Ever.
These are WAY cooler than regular brown/clear bandages. You're not going to find these babies in the drug store... Nope! I found all these at Urban Outfitters. Adult versions, but don't worry... I still rock my Hello Kitty bandages. And actually Miss Erin got me the Sh*t Happens bandages!
So go out there, stub a toe, and blame it on your ninja fight!

#77 DZP: Complete 3 DIY projects
Now when I say "DIY", I really thought "Craft-Time". So while I was off work, and staying home with Ryan, Craft-Time is what I did during his Nap-Time. :)
My craft store loved me: Ryan and I probably went (at-least) 3 times each week...
I always wanted to make melted crayon art, so I bought my crayons, the board, the frame, and the flowers, and took my glue and hair dryer to them. Tutorial to follow :)
Since it was Halloween, I found this off Pinterest (what else?!) and decided to make my own.
Just take a fake pumpkin (from craft store), spray paint it black (or white, or orange, or neon green... get your Pantone-color on!), take rhinestones and stick/glue them on into a web pattern, then hot glue your creepy (but glittery) spider! I absolutely HATE spiders, but I loved this project!
Once again, Pinterest sparked my creative-funny-bone: Halloween Tu-tu Wreath!
Take a roll of tulle (I bought mine from amazon, but tulle is everywhere!) and cut into strips. Tie, knot, slip-knot (whatever you want) on a foam wreath (also from craft store, I think I used a 12" wreath). Then run to the craft store and gather decorations for your fancy wreath: flowers, leaves, glittery-shinnies, and hot glue them on! I used purple and black flowers, orange-glittered stems, and a decorative peacock feather. And because the spiders were 2-package deal, I used the other for my wreath!
Yay for crafts and Do It Yourself Projects!

#58 DZP: Buy a Lotto Ticket
Can you believe that I'm over 25 (that's all I'll say about that too) and I haven't bought a lotto ticket!?!
I've been to several 7-Elevens and passed by the CA Lotto purple stand, but never stopped to get a ticket. When I was little, my parents bought a mini lotto ball dispenser, so I got to help pick lotto numbers, but I was too little to buy one, obviously haha!
But I bought one, so yay! & good luck to me! :)

#89 DZP: Eat at a restaurant that was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives"
#89 DZP: Eat at a restaurant that was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives"
Now this was as random as they come.
Story: Our good friends Vince & Shanna were going on a trip to Arizona.
I made cake pops for them, and for their trip.
Thought it would be a tasty treat for the drive out there.
Thought it would be a tasty treat for the drive out there.
Next thing I know Bebe, Petite Bebe, and I were in Chandler, Arizona... at Chino Bandinos.
(and yes, that's Ryan in the picture)
(and yes, that's Ryan in the picture)
When Shanna came to pick up the cake pops, she mentioned why they were all going to Arizona: to go to a restaurant: Chino Bandinos. It's a delightful mix of Mexican & Chinese food. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, that's what sparked the inspiration to go and visit Arizona. And the unlimited combinations are endless.... ok, maybe not endless, but you get the idea.
I unfortunately did NOT take any pictures of my awesome combination, but I had a carnitas quesadilla with jade red chicken, jerk fried rice, and cuban black beans. Let me tell you: jerk fried rice and jade red chicken... that was my favorite! *drool*
Fun times were had and it was a great FIRST family road trip!
(Special thanks to our wonderful friends who let us come with them on their family adventure!)
Here's apart of the DDD video I found on YouTube in case you were interested:

Nail {Love} - St Patty's Nails
I wish I had the time, the energy, and the nails to paint/color/decorate my nails every DAY! Most who know me also know I have a ton of nail polish. Not enough to paint my nails a different color everyday, but maybe paint each color 2 or 3 times in a year, if I painted them everyday.
I probably got that from my Auntie Debbie. She had beautiful nails and painted them (mostly reds) all the time, whenever she had down time at work... which was usually when she was staying late. She had those "tough as nails" nails. I wish I was like her, and in some ways I know I am.
But needless to say, I love nails. I love the smell of nail polish. Polish remover. The feel of filing. The designs at the nail salon. Scratching my head with my nails... just my head now, nothing else.
My actual nails are short, brittle and don't grow worth a sh*t. Urgh. They did a good job while I was pregnant with Ryan, but after that... meh. So I go to a nail shop to have fake ones put on. I've been going to a nail salon ever since I was about 16, maybe 17. It was for the Prom (of course) and my Mom let me get acrylic "pink and white" nails. Now a days, I'll get regular ones, just because I love the colors and I have several to choose from.... choosing from my own collection.
Now seeing how it's St. Patrick's Day (almost) I went with these cuties! It was compulsive but I love them nonetheless.

#4 DZP: Build a Snowman
Hey, I'm new to Mommyhood, so I don't get a whole lot of chances to get up to the snow... especially in Southern California. So when I took a trip out to visit my girl Julie in Ohio, it just happened to be snowing a bit... so I took my opportunity and ran. It's not a huge snowman, but a nugget snowman he is!

Iron Chef Zakarian
Ok, let me just say that I LOVE THIS SHOW!
Whew, glad I got that off my chest. See, most of America has American Idol, or the X Factor... Alex and I have Iron Chef America. And last night, the hunny and I watched the finale of Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs. He wanted Alex Guarnaschelli (second from the left), and I wanted Anne Burrell (third from the left), but when it came down to just two chefs: Chef Elizabeth Falkner & Chef Geoffrey Zakarian... sorry Elizabeth, but Geoffrey had our vote.
Both Alex and I were very excited (I was probably more nervous though) for the finale. Sunday morning I woke up and announced "OMG Iron Chef finale is TONIGHT!!! Ahhhh!!!" That's how excited (and maybe a little nerdy) I was for the finale.
It's usually taped in the DVR so when we got home after dinner, put the baby to bed and off to bed we went to watch it. It was an amazing episode, no... an AMAZING episode! The DVR couldn't fast-forward fast enough during the commercials! Chef Falkner had awesome dishes, and I'll admit, she's pretty bad ass in the kitchen. But our Chef Zakarian ROCKED it with his overall meal.
And who do you think won? Why else would I be blogging about this if it wasn't...
IRON CHEF ZAKARIAN!
When the Chairman proclaimed this Hello Kitty band-aid lover the next Iron Chef, Alex and I jumped up and down and was screaming happiness for our Chef Z! We were a tad excited that he won, just a tad *enter sarcasm*.
Don't believe me on the Hello Kitty? One of the many episode shots of him with many band-aids on (yet another reason I wanted him to win):
Congratulations Iron Chef Zakarian!
(can't wait for next Sunday's episode where he has his first battle as the newest Iron Chef!)

Friday Find: No Carve Pumpkins!
No Carve Pumpkins with Happy Tape!
Great idea Real Simple!
Want some tape but with attitude?! Washi paper tape is just like masking tape but available in tons of patterns and colors. "Ready, set, get stickin'!"
Supplies:
- Dry erase marker in a light color (avoid black)
- Scissors
- Washi tape, happytape.com
Instructions:
1. Using the dry erase marker, create your design, which will guide you when placing the tape. (The marker is great for this project because it lets you draw, rinse, and repeat!)
2. Once you’re set with your design, begin applying tape to the pumpkin's surface. Try using longer strips when possible, because piecing together too many short strips will look sloppy. For this design, begin at the stem and run your tape down the side of the pumpkin, erasing the markings as you adhere the strips to the surface. Finish at the bottom of the pumpkin. After all of the vertical stripes have been made, apply tape around the circumference of the pumpkin to complete your pattern. (If you'd rather stick with stripes, skip the final crisscross step.)
I love, Love, LOVE this idea! My good friend Erin posted a piece about happy tape on her blog way back when and now I see Real Simple has been bit with the washi-tap-love-bug too! Yeah they're a bit pricey compared to Scotch or any clear-taped brand... but can you really put a price on creative decorating? I think not! :)

Friday Find! - Paper Pots
Now I found this silly find from Real Simple's email and I love it!
Love all the colors and love the simple look to them!
My friend/coworker uses toilet paper as her tissue paper of choice rather than using Kleenex! My grandmother likes to give her grief over it, because she keeps a stash of TP in her desk drawer! It's hilarious! So I'm going to snag this find and give it to her as a gag-gift. Little does she know, you can use the pot for both toilet paper AND tissue paper!
Let me explain:
How to place toilet paper:

Silly Christmas Gift Anyone?! :)

Happy 300th Post!
Saw this adorable skin for the iPhone 4 and had to get it! I've always loved the Mr. Men and Little Miss collection. The Little Miss Sunshine one was too cute and I had to have it (plus the movie is one of my favorites!) Availible at GelaSkins.com
But *cheers* to the 300th post!
And on to another 300 more!
(that too is a good movie... 300 that is haha)
